FAQs
Are the fossils on The Bone Farm real?
Yes. All fossils offered on our site are 100% authentic. A majority of them have been personally discovered, excavated, and prepared by us during our own fieldwork.
Where do your fossils come from?
We primarily collect fossils from South Dakota’s Hell Creek Formation, where we’ve been working for over 10 years. We also source fossils from North and South Carolina, the Pierre Shale (SD), Wyoming’s Green River Formation, Virginia, Florida’s Peace River and west coast, and England’s southern coast.
Do you know the history of each fossil?
Yes. Because we personally collect many of our fossils, we know their exact origin, geological context, and the story behind their discovery and preparation.
Are your fossils legally collected?
Absolutely. All fossils are collected legally and ethically, following local, state, and international regulations. We are committed to responsible fossil collecting and supporting earth science education.
Will you be adding new fossils in the future?
Yes. We regularly add new finds. Upcoming trips include work at the Dinosaurs of the Hell Creek Museum (Belle Fourche, SD), Venice Beach (Florida), Tulsa (Oklahoma), and the Isle of Wight (England), so new fossils will continue to be added.
